Sample #1 ACSIP Wellness Plan

Wellness Policy Checklist - This checklist categorizes the Arkansas Nutrition and Physical Activity Rules for Public Schools into each component of the federal Wellness Policy.  The checklist was used at the Spring 2006 Wellness Policy Trainings by the Arkansas Department of Education, Child Nutrition Unit, see each Component below:
    Component #1 - Goals for nutrition education, physical education, and other school based activities that are designed to promote student wellness...
    Component #2 - Nutrition guidelines selected by the LEA for all foods available on each school campus... during the school day with the objective of promoting student health and reducing childhood obesity
    Component #3 - Guidelines for reimbursable school meals, not less restrictive than NSLP regulations and guidance
    Component #4 - Plan for measuring implementation of the local wellness policy, designation of 1 person with operational responsibility for ensuring each school fulfills the district's local wellness policy
    Component #5 - Community involvement in the development of the school wellness policy
